Sarah & Wes – Destination Wedding in Costa Rica

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sarah & Wes for their engagement photos back in the summer and I could instantly tell how much of a connection they had. These two are the sort of people that are a dream to work with – laid back, great sense of humor, smitten for each other and incredibly good looking to boot!;)Finding themselves in a bit of a dilemma during their wedding planning process, Sarah and Wes decided to move their hometown wedding idea to someplace a little more tropical. I, of course, was  ecstatic when they asked me to come along and photograph their incredible day. Costa Rica is an incredible country filled with amazing views, lively energy and incredibly wonderful people – what a perfect place to tie the knot! My husband Kyle and I ran all through their resort that day taking in all the scenery and trying not to look like a sweaty mess before the ceremony.;)I could spend a good deal of time just talking about how wonderful it is to watch two peoples so much in love commit their lives to each other (I’m such a mushy romantic) but I will keep this short. Sarah and Wes, thank you for giving Kyle and I an incredible experience to photograph and for being such fantastic clients and friends. You and both your families opened up to us to quickly that we felt more like family than being on the job! I can remember our exact reaction to when we heard our cab had arrived to take us away – “ohhh, can’t we stay just five more minutes!?”. Thank you all for being a barrel of fun and showing everyone how to throw a fantastic celebration! I wish you two laughter, adventures and, above all, love as you continue your lives together.

Sarah and Wes had a gorgeous suite overlooking the entire resort and beach they stayed at. Along with that view, they had the pleasure of experiencing iguanas, birds and the adorable, Coati!
These little guys had visited them most days during their stay and it was JUST before Sarah put her dress on that they popped out on the balcony to wish her well (and get some free snickey snacks)!
Crazy cool, hey?

Kelly - Ok, could her dress get any more beautiful? I’m absolutely in love with it – it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. The pics and candid shots are just wonderful.

Shelley - Beautiful pictures! Very happy for you guys!

Sarah - Ashley, you guys did such an amazing job of the photos! Wes and I are so happy that you and your hubby were there to share our special day with us. Not only do you take gorgeous pictures but you guys have such a great energy and really enhanced our wedding experience. You were the cherry on top of a scrumptious sundae — it just wouldn’t have been the same without you. Thanks again and we are looking forward to the rest of the pics. Much love,
Sarah and Wes

Hola Costa Rica!

We just got back from a week in Costa Rica where Kyle, my husband, and I enjoyed a gorgeous black sand beach, tons of adventures and shot the fabulous wedding of Sarah and Wes!
I can’t wait to share the HUGE blog post I have in store for you guys from their amazing day – until then, enjoy the sunset!;)

Abigail & Steven – Engaged!

Abigail and Steven booked a mini session with me for their engagement photos and they were really keen on it being some place that reflected them and their interests. We decided the Telus World of Science would be the perfect place to spend some ultra nerdy and romantic time – what turned out? I think it they look geek chic!;)

Meagan & Casey – Married!

I had such a fabulous time at Meagan & Casey’s wedding – when I first met them for their engagement photos in the summer (along with Jack!) I knew their wedding would be incredible. They had their ceremony and reception in a little country tourist town called Em-Te Town. The place was full of great places to explore and all the kids attending the wedding had an amazing time running around like real life cowboys for the day! Having their ceremony later in the day, I took  the couple portraits of Meagan and Casey sporadically which allowed us to use light at different times and get tons of variety! The country theme was beautifully tied into every detail, from the girls’ cowboy boots to the men’s toy guns to the decor. I hope the photos help tell the story of their day – it was a true celebration and SO much fun.
Congrats you two and so much love to your future together….muah!
