Well, darlings, here is my first summer wedding of 2011 and boy, was it full of great stories!
Let me first give you some background info on this lovely couple: I met Lynda and Kevin while I was dating/engaged to my Husband, Kyle (Lynda is Kyle’s cousin). They were, just like the rest of my soon-to-be-in-laws, VERY fun to be around with an amazing sense of humor. It wasn’t until I took their engagement photos, however, that I really got to get a sense of what Kevin and Lynda were all about. I can safely say I have never laughed so hard during an engagement session in my life. I couldn’t wait to see what capturing their wedding photos was going to be like! Kevin and Lynda are the perfectly matched couple in so many ways. Even though they both love to plan and be organized (a trait that was joked about at the wedding a lot), they ENJOY life for what it has and do everything they can to squeeeeeeze every last drop. I admire this trait, and their wicked sense of humor, so much.
The wedding day was, for a lack of a better word, rainy. VERY rainy. But despite that (and the limo driver locking the keys in the limo!) Lynda and Kevin never stopped enjoying their wedding for one moment. I can definitely say that I felt they had every confidence in me when I reassured the weather would eventually cooperate with us and our photos would go as planned. And guess what folks? It did! I have to thank all the people in Edmonton I had sending out positive weather vibes because the sky cleared for the few hours of photo taking before going back to pouring once we got into the reception. (The timing on the whole thing was so good it was eery!)
And, just as I suspected, taking wedding photos with Lynda and Kevin was just as fun as engagement photos. Thank you both (and your AMAZING wedding party and families) for being so fun, patient and a true joy to work with.
While shooting, I tried to squeeeeeze every last drop. 😉
I wish you both all the happiness and love in your new future together. Cheers!
Oh, right! Photos! These are a few of my favorites from this weekend. I hope you enjoy and, if you do, comment at the bottom of the post. Thanks!
I tried to put a positive spin on the rainy day and use water in as much photos as possible.
Lynda’s gorgeous dress was actually her Mothers’. I think it suits her perfectly. …………
My husband and I agree that Kevin should TOTALLY model for a suit company. 😉
