This engagement comes with quite a story.
Lara had contacted me about doing photos of Mitch and her (they were still dating at this time) at a camp called Goldeye near Nordegg, Alberta. I know them both from this camp as we all attended it when we were younger and now volunteer staff there in the summer. This camp is where Mitch and Lara met and started dating and it was only fitting to take some cute photos in a place that means so much to them. Our plan was to fit in some photo time during the weekend when we, along with 40ish other volunteers, visit the camp for a staff planning weekend. Little did I (or Lara for that matter!) know that Mitch was planning on these being engagement photos! One the evening before our last day at the camp, Mitch walked Lara down by the dock and proposed. When they came back to join the rest of the group, Lara announced their engagement to all of us – SO exciting! The next afternoon we got together to take some adorable photos around the camp. It was quite the experience for me to be right in the middle of the events after he popped the question and to photograph a couple on their first full day of being engaged – the next step to what will be an amazing and happy life together!
Thanks you to both of you for your amazing sense of humor and energy on this shoot – I know it was a busy weekend but I had a great time with you guys and wish you the best in planning your wedding!
