For those friends who know me well they know I cannot wait until August comes around in Edmonton for Fringe Festival! For my first couple years in Edmonton I never attended Fringe and it wasn’t until 3 years ago that I realized what I was missing! There is so much insane talent out there in Edmonton, Canada and the entire world and Fringe celebrate the arts in such a unique and fun way. I find that the entire city of Edmonton lights up when Fringe is happening -Whyte avenue is flocked with families, couples and people from all walks of life. There are street performers, artisans, actors and artist showing off their wide range of talents and plenty of delicious food to enjoy. It is safe to say that the Churros, Chai, and Candy Corn at Fringe becomes my diet for a few days at least. Haha! This year Fringeopolis celebrated its 30th year – THIRTY! What a fantastic thing to celebrate! This year the Fringe Festival in Edmonton brought in 576,000 visitors and I was proud to be one of them – taking in few fantastic plays, lots of street shows and my first henna tattoo! I had my camera with me a couple of the days I ventured out so I’ll share a few shots I took. If you have never Fringed before I highly suggest you check out next years activities – it’s 10 days of excitement, drama and all the fresh squeezed lemonaid and elephant ears you can devour! Check out the Fringe Festival’s Website and their list of ‘Holdovers’ if you wanted to grab one last play before it all wraps up!
Lots of love. Shine on.
Member of Fringeopolis! Yes please!
This Chai (this year located behind the main stage) was freaking delicious. Wow.
That airplane was attached to his helmet which he swung around while doing other tricks. It was hilarious.
